daddy, I'm sluffing

The Hot - Wicked story, wicked acting. Charlie was just so cool. Such an honest kid. Anton Yelchin was awesome. Just the perfect portrayal of the character, who is slightly damaged. The last scene at the protest, was perfect timing. That was a great scene. Just at the moment, I was thinking just what Charlie was saying.

The Not - It's cool how all the kids followed him, but..really, why? I don't think they answered it too well..because of Ritalin at the dance?..and then people would start seeing him for psychiatric purposes. I would have liked more of Robert Downey Jr's character, but he finished the movie super strong. Hot stuff!

Final Shot - Charlie Bartlett - 4/5

gustavo!!

The Hot - It was simple and a cool story.

The Not - Nothing REALLY happens. I mean, the movie was good for what it was..but there were a lot of unanswered questions...I think the movie lacked focus. It started as California vs. France, but then..it just became the one vinyard..and white wine. the rest of the movie dissappeared. They should have just gotten rid of the Sam-Romance plot..or at least with Gustavo. There wasn't enough depth on that...I think the movie would have done better just focusing on the one winery..I dunno. Tough to say! It's not like the movie was trying to be a blockbuster...

Final Shot - Bottle Shock - 2/5

you know why!

The Hot - Ashton and Cameron were great. They were pretty good together. I kind of picture it like Ashton and Demi. It always just warms my heart to see love happen. Gosh, it breaks my heart, too.

The Not - Just the improbability of the story. The double-booking the room and winning all that money. Kinda bonky. But hey, I guess that's Vegas. Also, just the idea of the schmoe and hot girl hooking up isn't all that original.

Final Shot - What Happens in Vegas - 3/5

best of RomCom

These are movies that get me emotionally, but are also kind of funny. These might actually be my favorite movies on a personal level. They all kind of have broken characters.

The Hot - I just love movies with broken characters who try to pull their lives back together. It wasn't poorly done. Aaron Eckhart was a stud. Jessica Alba seemed as though she was in a very minor role, but I was in love with the kid. I want to be like him. I just liked the characters and the story. Elizabeth Banks was unreal, as usual. She's in all my fav movies. The movie is very heartfelt and is another in my hot RomCom Categories.

The Not - Maybe just some stuff that was kind of out of place -- Jessica Alba..and maybe the SweetSweet guys -- they are hilarious...just underused actors.

Final Shot - Meet Bill - 4/5

hawaiian tropic

The Hot - Amazing acting, not too spoofy, hilarious story and just great. It wasn't a typical spoof. It was SMART funny..and not the same type of humour throughout the entire movie. Very hilarious..and there were sooo many funny parts..and it played well on a lot of classic action/war movies. Very cool and different. Very unique.

The Not - Robert Downey Jr.'s character kind of annoyed me for a little bit near the end. At first, I thought he was hilarious...but I just don't like how they kind of left his character unanswered until the end of the movie -- but they had to..and I liked the way it ended.

Final Shot - Tropic Thunder - 4.5/5

paper planes

The Hot - It was smart -- and still kind of funny. really, I think it was just a funny action movie...not half action, half comedy like a lot of people say. If you consider a comedy to be Seth Rogen's one-liners..then you're mistaken..but it was very funny and I liked the characters. James Franco was the best..and his character was great...and his acting also.

The Not - Really, it reminds me a lot of I-Spy (SO GOOD) or Rush Hour...but just..funnier. Sure, the story is funnier because of the premise...but all the elements are pretty much the same.

Final Shot - Pineapple Express - 3/5

the darkest

The Hot - Everything. The story, the darkness, it was just so hot right now. Christian Bale was insane. This movie just had the best acting I've ever seen in my life...and the mood and everything was so dark and perfect. SOOOOOO PERFECT! Aaron Eckhart was insane. Best Supporting Actor will be a hard award to give away.

The Not - Not enough of the Joker.

Final Shot - The Dark Knight - 5/5
