red red tie

The Hot - I liked The Spirit a lot, as a character. He was noble..and I had no idea he was so much of a pimp. I think there were some changes from the graphic novel -- such as him being a pimp and also Scarlett Johannson's character. I think they just wanted to add more sex into it. Anyway, it was just kinda weird. The Spirit was a super cool dude, so was the story, the background they gave with Sand Seraf and The Spirit. It was sexy, and there were a lot of memorable characters and visuals.

The Not - I just don't think it worked well and really made sense. There really wasn't enough story on The Spirit himself, -- yes they did how he became The Spirit, but I couldn't really get into the character, and I couldn't even really connect with the stuff on The Octopus vs The Spirit...it was explained..but..I dunno, hard to get into it really. Just some cool things, but didn't seem to really connect that well. I was disappointed...but it's good, and I'll definitely watch it again.

The Hot - Well, it wasn't what I expected, which really isn't a bad thing. It was really a story about Vince Vaughn giving these younger comics a break, and travelling 30 days and doing a comedy show each night. Kinda crazy..and awesome. It was a very honest story and it just seemed very real. That's what I like, honesty..and I like all the flashbacks with Vince Vaughn, and how they showed real parts of the tour...and also flashbacks. Super cool. It's kind of an emotional movie!

The Not - I guess I thought it would be just a stand up comedy tour. I guess I would have wanted more comedy, but I wasn't dissappointed..the Katrina stuff seemed ..iffy, but I liked that they were honest and the guys didn't wanna go out and give out tickets. They were funny assholes.

Final Shot - Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Tour - 4/5

Yes'm

The Hot - Well, there wasn't a lot of Jim Carrey humour, which was awesome. That was a big surprise. The humour was pretty good, his boss was hilarious. Sack (from Wedding Crashers) was good too..he wasn't hilarious..just like serious and kinda funny. I really liked the supporting characters. The story and message was kinda good too. Just like..Liar, Liar and...Bruce Bruce Almighty..it had a message like that...and OH, those were both Jim Carrey movies.

The Not - Jim Carrey looked so old..and they needed a different guy to play this role. He looked out of place, especially with his friends and whatever. Jim Carrey, you're done. Stop playing the same characters, you saggy faced ass cracker. I don't like the girl either. She wasn't terrible..but why is there this obsession with quirky, offbeat girls...who listen to indie music..and take random pictures and do whatever they want? It started with Garden State..except, oh, that girl had epilepsy..and shouldn't have become a standard for good movies.

desperado

The Hot - Maybe just the Despereaux character...and the story. Like, an underdog story full of hope. Sadly, I just can't connect with these gay animated movies. Seriously, just because these movies are animated and generally for kids...yeah, I dunno. It wasn't anything special. Dustin Hoffman was a baller-dollar.

The Not - Boring. It just wasn't interesting enough. The characters were flaky...and the princess really didn't make any sense, either.
Dumbo dumbo dumbo. Just another typical kids animated movie.

Final Shot - Tale of Despereaux - 1.5/5

fred's clause

The Hot - Vince Vaughn was funny. It was good seeing Ronnie from Role Models. It was an original-not-completely-rosie-kind-of-an-asshole story which was kinda cool.

The Not - The movie was clearly just thrown together as a holiday movie. Most of the jokes were all from Wedding Crashers..I mean, it was funny, but a lot of Vince Vaughn's lines were just recycled from other movies..but he had a good character. SOOO many good actors/actresses but all severely underused... and the movie just felt empty.

Final Shot - Fred Claus - 2/5

christmas is 4 cagefighters

The Hot - Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn were amazing. They were such a good onscreen couple and they complimented each other very well. The movie was also really funny. I liked how dynamic each of the 4 Christmases were. Vince Vaughn was very honest...and I just thought the movie was very heartfelt

The Not - It felt a bit disconnected. I mean, going to 4 Christmases in one day is a little crazy...but I felt that there was more continuity having recurring characters at each of the parent's houses. The dad's house was great at the end. Lots of emotion.

Final Shot - Four Christmases - 3.5/5
