that wonder bread car is toast

so, after all the hype, and side-splitting expectations associated with Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, how did this actually measure up?
It blew my mind. Literally. I'm not making any comparisons to Wedding Crashers, but as a follow up, I can see why You, Me and Dupree was pretty crappy, and not all that funny; Owen Wilson wasn't the lead guy. The only part where he was, was the funniest part (where he broke into Carl's office and whatever.) Anyways, Talladega Nights was the bomb. The writing was really good, and when there are stupid parts that may not make sense, a la him being in his underwear, they didn't shy away from it, or try to hide it...they just turn it into another joke.
McKay and Ferrell didn't take themselves too seriously when writing the script, and it turned out to be not just a good comedy, but a good movie.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - 3.5/5
