my boyfriend's back

My boyfriend, of course, being Daniel Craig. I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon, because I've been on it for about a year. I knew he'd rip, because he's a dope actor. Let's back-track. Obviously, everyone loves Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, myself included. Because of my love for these two movies, I bought Layer Cake, which was directed by the producer of Snatch and Lock, Stock. Daniel Craig blew my balls off in Layer Cake. Then I saw him in Munich, and yeah, I luvz him.

Another note would be that I hate Bond movies. They're so gadget-y and too classy, that I feel like I could only enjoy them if I were a 60 year old British prude watching the movie in the theatre with a cup of tea (and maybe a crumpet or two).

What I loved about Casino Royale was that it was gritty. It was tough and not polished, but still very classy because Bond is still Bond, I suppose. I thought it was ill how the movie takes place when he just started off as a "00," and was such a bad-ass move.
Everything that you wanted to happen did, and the 'twists' were also really good.
At the end, I thought that it was getting too sappy, but that was quickly fixed at the end in a fashion that only an asshole like myself can appreciate.
"The job is done. The bitch is dead." <-- Spoiler? Or my life?

I really hold back on giving 5/5's. Maybe I shouldn't hesitate because movies get 4 stars or 2 thumbs up all the time. Hmm. I've only given Superman a 5/5, and maybe I should compare? My marking system may be flawed with emotion. It will all come around when I do my top 10 of 2006.

Casino Royale - 5/5

(Also, when I make my 'best of' for the year, I usually make a list of about 50 movies that I want to see in the coming year..and have my 'most hyped' movies, that I'm most excited to see. This year they were Superman, Stranger than Fiction and Pan's Labyrinth. There will be one next year; 300. I may already call this movie, my favorite movie ever...to date.)
