i'm in love with a stripper

The Hot - Boobs?

The Not - It was uggh, a porno without the porn. The only reason I watched was for the nudity. All the acting was terrible -- I think they were all porno actors..ugh, this was terribnle.

The Hot - Hmmm, it was pretty funny. I liked the band that Michael Cera was in, and I thought the hot drunk friend was funny at first. There was some originality with the gay band guys -- other than that, some dumb jokes and cheap laughs was all that was decent.

The Not - Let's keep making Kat Dennings and Michael Cera play the same characters in all of their movies! Way too many stupid teen, indie cliches that were made oh-so popular by Juno. They didn't really even get into any music. I just really didn't like the story -- it's just what cool, trendy high school kids do every weekend.

The Hot - Lots of weird stuff, like from the video game. The video game excelled due to haunting dark scenes showing how twisted Max Payne was after the loss of his family. The movie did a good job of showing a lot of those scenes and the imagery was totally awesome. Sometimes it looked like Sin City, I loved all the scenes with the snow, it just looked really cool. The lighting and stuff really added to the story.

The Not - It seemed way too weird and they didn't go deep into why Max was so messed up. Just kinda random stuff with the demons and it took awhile to get into the story. I really think you needed to have played the video game, otherwise it just seemed weird and didn't really make any sense. Typical twist in the ending, but the whole story works much better as a video game.

Final Shot - Max Payne - 3/5

henry poole was here

The Hot - It was a pretty dark main character, battling with faith and letting people in. It's good to see. It was really just a story of faith, that mentions God, but doesn't deal with religion as much as it deals with a loss of hope. Luke Wilson was great and I always love Radha Mitchell. I liked her daughter the most in the movie. She was a good supporting character as she was dealing with loss a different way than Henry, and it just put a good mix in the movie.

The Not - Maybe some of it is a little whack, and there are some strange miracles, but it's necessary to the story.
Final Shot - Henry Poole is Here - 4/5
